JBJS Open Access (JBJS OA) is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that welcomes original articles that contribute to orthopaedic knowledge from all sources in all countries, with the goal of improving the quality of care of orthopaedic patients. By publishing in JBJS OA, authors enable readers around the globe to have free, perpetual, unrestricted online access to their article on the JBJS OA website immediately upon publication.

In the AOA Critical Issues in Education Channel of JBJS Open Access, The American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) and The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, Inc., partner to bring readers content focused on major issues in the education of orthopaedic medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty. Because AOA is the home of the Council of Orthopaedic Residency Directors (CORD) program, which strives to recognize, develop and promote best practices in graduate medical education, this channel reflects relevant education research and discourse.

For more information about submitting an article for publication in the AOA Critical Issues in Education channel, please visit the Instructions for Authors page. AOA members, Emerging Leaders, AOA Program Participants and/or CORD affiliates will receive a discounted Article Processing Charge (APC) upon acceptance of their article; however, AOA affiliation is not a requirement for article submission and acceptance.
