Faculty Development Short Course
Overview
For new program directors, associate program directors, osteopathic program directors, general faculty, and anyone interested in or involved with resident education, this course provides education to satisfy fundamental faculty development needs. Participants will build a strong foundation in the administrative aspects of graduate medical education, interact with practical tools and solutions, and benefit from CORD’s unique resources and professional network.
The course runs on a three-year cycle, designed to follow the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) competency template of Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviors. This year’s course will focus on behaviors.
Objectives:
- Participants will be familiar with different boundary violations and understand how to teach appropriate boundaries.
- Participants will be familiar with how to recognize mental health issues and the interventions available for them.
- Participants will be familiar with behavioral issues in residents and faculty, and intervention tools
